More about the comedians …
Twice Emmy-winning actor and comedian Fiona Allen has been a mainstay of our TV screens over the past two decades as well as an excellent stand-up comedian. She has starred in various sketch shows, including Goodness Gracious Me and The All Star Comedy Show, but most famously Smack the Pony.
Fiona has also appeared in television dramas such as Dalziel and Pascoe, Coronation Street, in Happiness alongside Paul Whitehouse, and on film as Sandra in the film version of the famous Viz comic strip Fat Slags, and Smirgut the Fierce in Gladiatress. Most recently she has been in that little-known soap Eastenders.
Fiona won a whole new generation of fans in the second series of the hit E4 teenage drama Skins, playing Maxxie’s mum, Jackie Oliver (her on-screen hubby was Bill Bailey). She has also played the role of Georgia Stevenson in the BBC drama Waterloo Road, while often appearing as herself on comedy shows like Mock the Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats.
She is fresh from her new rib-tickling show ‘On The Run’
Ian Macdonald has been gigging since he made 400 vicars laugh (at the same time!) and realised that Stand Up Comedy was the mid-life crisis he was searching for. Delivering his own brand of cheerful incredulity, he has been described as ‘warm,’ ‘full of heart’ and ‘very very funny.’
Ian was Semi finalist in the ‘Laughing Horse’ national New Act competition 2015, and Finalist at the “Laugh out Loud” Competition, Wimborne.
Jonathan Elston has been a permanent fixture of the UK comedy circuit since beginning stand up at the age of 19. His adaptability either as a quick witted MC or delivering a set of packed fully relatable punchlines means he is at home performing in a wide range of venues from Art centres and Parent Teacher Associations to Military bases.
He was the youngest ever headliner of the prestigious Big Value Showcase and MC of AAA at the Edinburgh Festival.
His likability and sharp writing means he is sought after act at many of the UK’s major clubs, alongside multiple shows in New Zealand, Norway and Spain.
